Susquehanna Marble and Granite offers a special sealing technique to every State College granite customer who purchases stone that requires sealing. Susquehanna Marble and Granite is so confident in our technique, that we are putting a warranty on every countertop that we install. A bottle of everyday cleaner has been provided along with some cleaning tips. If you follow these tips and clean your countertops with the cleaner provided, your countertops will never need to be resealed. We will warrant your countertops for as long as you own your home. If for some reason your granite countertops need to be resealed, they will be done so by us at no extra charge.
Differences Between Natural and Engineered Stone
There are significant differences between natural and engineered stone. Our experienced team of State College granite designers, fabricators and installers understand these differences.
Granite is actually a combination of quartz, mica and feldspar. Engineered stone is 93% quartz based on weight; the rest is a mix of resin, glass and dyes. It starts off as a powdered mix and is pressed into slabs. While there are several brand names of engineered stone on the market today, most are generally made using the Breton machinery. Additionally the same colors of quartz crystals are used in all brands, and the different shades of material are actually achieved through dyes. Engineered Marble is also available with characteristics similar to natural marble. They are going to do all the things that natural marble does, it will etch. Learn more about the differences here.
